Artist's Statement: I began many of the images on this page by scanning copyright-free line drawings from various sources. I then used Adobe Photoshop to paint them on a computer. For the past 13 years, I have been learning to "draw" the images myself, using the vector software Adobe Illustrator to follow very exact proportions and accuracy. Some examples of this are Medicine Buddha, the FPMT Mandala, the World Peace Stupa, the Eight Auspicious Signs and the double dorje that appears at the bottom each page on this site. Vector images are particularly useful, because they can be incredibly accurate and reproduced at any size without losing detail.

I maintained the proper proportions of the images throughout the process; this is, after all sacred geometry. I am not a trained thangka painter, though out of profound respect, I try to be as correct as possible, observing and drawing inspiration from thangkas by those who are trained and know what they are doing. When I once asked Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche for advice when working on these images, he said just to make them as beautiful as I could. I have tried my best to follow Rinpoche's kind advice. As far as I know, these images are reliable to be used in visualizations when other sources are not available. I apologize for any inaccuracies rendered here.
